Hello and welcome to Calm the Soul Yoga & Wellness Studio. Yoga means ‘union’ between the body, mind and soul and I believe every experience is a chance to turn inwards and learn something new. I embrace this message in each one of my classes as well as in my own practice. My training not only taught me how to effectively and safely teach yoga postures, breathing and meditation techniques…it was also a journey of self-discovery and self-exploration that cemented my love of yoga.
I have been practicing yoga for more than 15 years, successfully completing my Yoga Teacher training in June of 2010, at the Lotus Centre in London, Ontario. I am a Certified Yoga Teacher, with specializations in Children’s Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga and I am registered with the Canadian Yoga Alliance.

Amy has been a lover, learner and student of yoga since her early twenties. After being in a car accident at the age of 21, it was recommended she try yoga to help rehabilitate. It was through this experience that she developed a deep respect for yoga and learning that it was OK and extremely necessary to slow down and honour what her body needed. It wasn’t until 6 six years later, that yoga truly became her saving grace and so much more than just the physical practice. After going through a very intense health crisis, she decided to really dig deep into exploring why yoga was helping her feel better on so many levels. She moved to the Bahamas for three months to complete her 200 hr yoga teacher training. She has been teaching yoga for over six years now, is certified in Sivananda Hatha Yoga, Post Natal Yoga, Chair Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Yin Yoga, and is also an Ayurvedic Wellness Counsellor. She’s passionate about making yoga accessible to all, on the mat, in a chair, or by simply tuning into the moment and power of your breath!

Even from a young age, Crystal has always been strongly passionate about self development, growth and living her best life. She discovered yoga after major life challenges that had her feeling less than. Stepping onto her mat everyday allowed her to un-become everything she was not, in order to step into her light and begin to thrive as her best self. Yoga changed Crystals’s life so much, that she decided to travel to Mexico to study at Yandara, and successfully became a Certified Yoga Teacher – 200hr – registered with the Yoga Alliance. Crystal’s practice allowed her to learn on the mat exactly what needs to be applied to her every day life. She is honoured to be able to share her journey with each of you.
